Steamboat Pilot & Today Editor Lisa Schlichtman will speak about creating opportunities for your media organization to engage with the community you serve. From Coffee and a Newspaper events to Step Up and Serve forums for citizens considering a run for public office, the Steamboat Pilot & Today has embarked on a robust community engagement strategy. Lisa will outline a number of proven ideas for driving community and audience engagement, including contests, polls and the use of social media tools to strengthen and promote your newspaper’s role as a driver of community conversation.

Bio:

Lisa Schlichtman was named editor of the Steamboat Pilot & Today in July 2013. In addition to her passion for the newspaper industry, Lisa has been actively involved in a variety of community projects and organizations, serving in leadership roles for many. She currently is a member of the Steamboat Springs Rotary Club, is involved with the Leadership Steamboat program and serves on the Yampa Valley Autism Program Advisory Board. During Lisa's 25-year newspaper career, she has served in many capacities including: newspaper reporter, editor, and owner and publisher of newspapers and magazines in Southwest Missouri.  She is a native of St. Louis, Mo., and a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
