Randy Bangert has been editor at The Greeley Tribune for the past 10 years and has a 40+ year career at the Greeley paper. He came to Greeley in 1972 to major in journalism at UNC. He started working as a part-time sports writer in 1973. A year later he was full-time. He became sports editor, then education reporter, then city hall reporter, then city editor, managing editor, and he has been editor since 2006. He also added the title of general manager and editor of the weekly newspaper Windsor Now in 2016. Bangert was named Colorado News Person of the Year in 2016 by the Colorado Press Association.
