Healey is the owner and publisher of Colorado Community Media, which includes 18 different community newspapers and is read by more than 300,000 people. Last year, the company launched integrated marketing solutions that includes many digital advertising products as well as print. Healey has been involved in publishing on and off since graduating from Northeastern University with a degree in marketing.

Dan Petty is the digital director of audience development for MediaNews Group, the parent company of the Denver Post, Boulder Daily Camera and Loveland Reporter-Herald, among many others. He worked for seven years at the Denver Post starting in 2009 in a variety of digital roles, most recently as a senior editor for the breaking news team. He was a part of the 2013 staff that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for breaking news for coverage of the Aurora theater shooting. Since 2017, he has traveled multiple times to Kazakhstan to serve as a digital media consultant for news organizations in the country at the invitation of the U.S. State Department.

Niki Turner started working at the Rio Blanco Herald Times in 2000 in the front office, and worked her way through ad sales, copyeditor, reporter and graphic designer while homeschooling four children. In 2016, she bought the publication with her husband and oldest daughter and now serves as publisher and editor.

Mike Wiggins, a Colorado native, is the former managing editor of The Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction and the current owner and co-publisher of the Ouray County Plaindealer, which has been publishing for the past 142 years. Wiggins purchased the Ouray County Plaindealer with his wife in 2019 after 18 years at The Daily Sentinel. He graduated from Mesa State College in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in mass communication.

Lee Bachlet, Director
Lee Bachlet is the Publisher of The Pueblo Chieftain, Pueblo West View, La Junta Tribune-Democrat, Bent County Democrat, Fowler Tribune and the Ag Journal. He has been involved with newspapers and media since he took his first job as a carrier in his hometown for Cheyenne, WY, in the mid-70s. He started his full-time newspaper career in the newsroom in the mid-80s, as a writer/editor in Cheyenne and Laramie. He spent the bulk of his career in the advertising end of the business in such markets as Santa Fe, Denver, St. Louis, Austin and Las Vegas. Since 2016, Lee has been publishing papers for GateHouse Media, with stints in Louisiana and Kansas. He assumed his current role -- Senior Group Publisher, Colorado, GateHouse Media -- in 2018. He and his family are elated to be back home.

Susan reported in California, Nevada and Washington, D.C. before her 13 years as a reporter and news columnist at The Denver Post. She went on to become the editor and executive director of The Colorado Independent before it merged this year with COLab. “Trashing the Truth,” a series she reported with Miles Moffeit, helped exonerate five men, prompted state and federal reforms on evidence preservation and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in investigative journalism. Her investigation,“The Gray Box,” exposed the effects of long-term solitary confinement. Susan has been honored in recent years by the National Press Foundation, ACLU, Society of Professional Journalists and Colorado Press Association for her First Amendment work and coverage of criminal justice, mental health and civil rights. She was selected as a 2020-2021 Rosalynn Carter Mental Health Journalism Fellow, and is the inaugural recipient of the Benjamin von Sternenfels Rosenthal Grant for Mental Health Investigative Journalism — a partnership between The Carter Center’s Mental Health Program and Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR).

Jennifer Hefty is a Content Strategy Analyst for the USA TODAY Network. She works with 30+ USA TODAY Network newsrooms in Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. She works to build a sustainable future for local news by consulting with newsrooms on digital strategy, audience growth and reader revenue. She’s based in Fort Collins and previously served in a variety of editor roles at The Coloradoan and as interim Network Social Media Editor at USA TODAY.

Becky Justice-Hemmann has been an entrepreneur all her life and owned several successful businesses in Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado. Her background hasn’t primarily been in newspapers, but in sales and marketing, and she currently owns another business, Media Innovations. Hemmann and her son started the Surveyor in June of 2004. There was another newspaper in Berthoud at the time.
